LIFE LATELY: I feel like I say this every week. But where is the time going? Once again I feel like the time is passing me by. Life lately has been quite wonderful. I spent some solid time with friends this week and I crossed a few things off my to-do list. I still have a few emails to write and some appointments to schedule but other than that, I really can’t complain. Let’s just hope next week is even better!
AROUND THE BLOG: Don’t say it. I know. My posts are still MIA. Let’s just pretend I didn’t promise new posts last week. I’m really working on consistency. I don’t know how you full time bloggers do it, but I am forever impressed by your ability to turn around posts AND photos (because let’s be real, the pics and videos are the hardest part). Anyways, I’m thinking of changing my blog layout (again), however I am curious about how you guys liking this one? Any feedback is appreciated!
LA LIVING: I had so much fun this week. My friend and I went to Melrose and I finally saw the Paul Smith wall (the bright pink wall everyone takes a picture in front of in LA). Melrose has a bunch of fun shops but truthfully I don’t feel cool enough (or rich enough) to actually buy anything. But I love a good walk and window shopping. I also stopped by Honey’s Kettle Fried Chicken. It was an impromptu trip with my friend and she loved it. If you ever want casual fried chicken in LA then definitely check this place out!
Yesterday I took my baby cousin to Pacific Park at the Santa Monica Pier. I talk all about the pier here in this post. It’s seriously one of my favorite places in LA and it’s especially more fun because my cousin in 3 and is in awe by all the games and rides. I may have spoiled her a bit with games, candy, and prizes, but I can’t help but treat her like a princess.
WHAT I’M READING: I started Luvvie’s I’m Judging You but it was a library loan and had to go back. I definitely didn’t finish it before the expiration date so I’ll just rent it out again. I have been using and abusing the LA Public Library. Being able to order books to my closest branch and having access to kindle version of books for FREE is awesome and saves me so much money especially because I read so fast. Not sure what I’ll read next, but The Power of Habit is a likely candidate.
AROUND THE HOUSE: I FINALLY have a kitchen table (yes, one year later). It’s perfect for a studio because it’s compact. The best part is it fits two people, but can expand to fit 4 if needed. I know a table isn’t needed but I actually don’t like eating at my desk, in my bed, or on the couch. I’m also in the process of working on my living room. Where do you guys get art from? My walls are so bare but I can’t find ANYTHING that I like.
MEDICINE: I’m currently preparing for my internal medicine rotation. My friend who is on that rotation now came over yesterday for dinner and shared some resources that she has found helpful. I’ll be ordering those resources soon but they’re so expensive. I also might as well cave and buy UWorld (a required question bank) again as well. Ugh, all of these resources add up and UWorld alone is about $400. Unfortunately these expenses are NOT optional. Anyone do their medicine rotation yet? Feel free to leave tips in the comments or just let me know via email.
I hope you guys had as much fun as I did this week!
