A while back, Kreyolicious reached out for an interview. If you’re unfamiliar, Kreyolicious is a well known site for everything pertaining to Haitian news and culture. As a Haitian-American, it’s really important for me to help and support Haitian communities both in the U.S. and Haiti. I’m really excited to share this interview with Kreyolicious. If you’d like you can check out part 1 and part 2 of the interview. I talk a bit about what inspired me to go into medicine and I also share a bit about my last trip to Haiti and the research I did while I was there.
Media outlets like Kreyolicious are very much needed. There aren’t enough positive images and stories about Haiti and since the earthquake the media has only gotten worse about showing only the poor people and the negative images. I am happy that outlets like Kreyolicious exist to show that there is more to Haiti than the poverty. I am also happy that they show the positive things various Haitians are doing in their fields. Be sure to check out their website!
Thank you again to Kreyolicious for the interview and feature!
P.S. If you want to read a throwback post, check out this one where I recap my last trip to Haiti!
