December Reading List

Recently I decided that I wanted to start reading for pleasure again. As a child, I was a book lover and read several books a week. But since medical school, I’ve had a love hate relationship with reading. The other day I decided that I wanted to rekindle my love for books. While I was in Target the other day, I started browsing their book aisle and picked up 4 new books. Although I haven’t finished them all yet, I still wanted to share my picks with you!

By the way… I know that books can get pretty pricey (and pretty heavy if you carry them around with you). For this reason, if you don’t have a library card, you should get one ASAP. In the past I have used my public library to borrow books. If you’re like me and never have time to pick them up, you can always use your public libraries e-book website to download kindle/ nook versions of your favorite book. Sometimes I use my nook and other times I use the free kindle reader for iPad. The best part about using online loans is that the books are automatically delivered and returned which means no late fees!

Book #1: We’re Going to Need More Wine by Gabrielle Union
Book #2: The Mothers by Britt Bennett
Book 3: I Almost Forgot About You by Terry McMillan
Book #4: Leopard at the Door by Jennifer McVeigh

Let me know if you have any other book suggestions. I’m excited to get started on these books. I’ll report back after I’ve gotten through them all.
